He started taking part in water skiing competitions from the age of 2. Austin was ranked number 3 in the world by the age of 13. Unfortunately, he was forced to give up the sport due to a severe shoulder injury.

He represented the U.S. in many junior level water skiing competitions including Pan-American Championship and Junior Olympics.

While studying at McCallum High School, he used to play basketball.

He is good friends with Jake Gyllenhaal.

He decided to become an actor when he was 15 years old.
